Marin association of Realtors symbol

Founded in 1920, the Marin Association of REALTORS® (MAR) is headquartered in San Rafael with the goal to ensure the business success of its members. MAR provides political advocacy, education, and ethics/dispute resolution services to 1,400 REALTORS® who work in 240 real estate offices across Marin County. Disputes may involve alleged violations of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics or other issues the public may have when working with the organization’s members to buy or sell a home. Their Professional Standards program is designed to help with these dispute resolution/arbitration needs. To help ensure that all REALTORS® can compete on a level playing field, MAR issues citations for violating the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Code of Ethics.

To this end, Center for Domestic Peace operates with three interlocking strategies: 1) Safety and Empowerment, 2) Coordinated Community Response, and 3) Social Transformation. Since its founding in 1977, they have responded to the needs of more than 163,000 women (and their children) affected by domestic violence, as well as more than 28,500 men who have been violent. They work tirelessly to spread the word that Marin is in no way immune to the problem of domestic violence, and wish to also explain that domestic violence can affect individuals of every walk of life, socio-economic group, gender, religion, race, profession, and education level. The Marin County Civil Grand Jury, in fact, undertook a comprehensive study of domestic violence in Marin in 2010, which pronounced domestic violence as the number one violent crime in our community. Although they are located in Marin, their work reaches far beyond.
